History of Kynance Mews

The history of Kynance Mews dates back to the Victorian era when it was originally developed as a stable yard for the grand townhouses that lined the neighboring streets like  Mayfair, Kensington, Marylebone, and Hyde Park. However, their purpose shifted dramatically during World War II when aristocratic families left the city, rendering the mews obsolete.

It wasn’t until the 1960s, amidst a rapidly changing world, that Londoners began to recognize the untapped potential of these mews. They saw an opportunity to transform these former stables into charming residences, providing a sanctuary away from the bustling city life. The quaint and village-like atmosphere of the mews gradually gained popularity, ultimately contributing to the staggering price tags they bear today, averaging around £2.5 million.
