Discovering Canary Wharf: The History

secret places canary wharf

Canary Wharf back in the day was a buzzing port, the heart of Britain’s trading. Then, in the swinging ’80s, along came the London Docklands Development Corporation, with their big plans for revitalization. Fast forward, and voilà! Canary Wharf is now this shiny, towering financial district, full of skyscrapers, suits, and a whole lot of hustle and bustle. It’s very fascinating to understand the history of these places and how it has evolved, century to century. Living in London, and at such a stunning spot like Canary Wharf has been a great experience.  There are places that offer a glimpse of a different side of Canary Wharf, away from the corporate hustle and bustle.
